Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Uwa Organics is a trading name of Kindredd Digital Studio (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2016/345146/07, Aldbury Close, Maroeladal, Randburg (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop at uwaorganics.co.za, why we collect it, and your rights under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, WhatsApp number and delivery address, what you bought and how much you paid.
- When you create an account: your name, email address and password. If you use “Continue with Google”, we receive your name and email address from Google. You can also save delivery addresses.
- Your message choices: whether you agreed to order updates, a check-in after delivery, and skin tips and new-batch news. We record each choice and when you made it.
- When you browse: how you use the site, such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, roughly where you are, and which advert or link brought you here. We collect this with Google Analytics and the tracking tools of the social platforms we advertise on.
- When you contact us: what you send us by email or WhatsApp.
We never see or store your card details. PayFast handles payment on its own secure page.
Why we use it
- To take your order, deliver it and send you updates about it.
- To run your account, if you have one.
- To send skin tips and new-batch news, only if you ticked that box.
- To understand how people use the site, so we can improve it.
- To measure our adverts and show our adverts to people who may like our products, on Google and social platforms.
- To prevent fraud and keep the shop secure.
- To meet our tax and accounting duties.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- PayFast processes your payment.
- The Courier Guy or Aranova Couriers (whichever you choose) delivers your order in South Africa (your name, phone number and address).
- FedEx delivers orders outside South Africa. It receives your name, phone number, email address and delivery address, and what is in your parcel and its value, for customs. This information leaves South Africa: FedEx and the customs office of your country receive it.
- Meta (WhatsApp) sends order messages, if you agreed to them.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Supabase stores our shop data, on servers in the European Union.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Cloudflare runs the security check on sign-in pages.
- Google signs you in if you choose “Continue with Google”, and runs Google Analytics and Google Ads.
- Social platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Pinterest receive browsing information through their tracking tools, to measure and show our adverts. When you check out or create an account, TikTok also receives a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number, so it can match your visit to its users. It never receives them in readable form.
Some of these services store information outside South Africa. We use them because they protect information to a standard comparable to POPIA. We never sell your personal information.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar tools for three things: to make the shop work (remembering your bag, keeping you signed in and running the security check), to understand how the site is used (Google Analytics), and to measure and show our adverts (Google and the social platforms above). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The shop still works without the analytics and advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 5 years for accounting and tax, then remove the personal details from them. Your account stays until you delete it. Analytics and advertising services keep information for the periods set in their own policies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. You can also:
- Change your message choices at any time in your account, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Reply STOP to any WhatsApp message to stop WhatsApp messages.
- Delete your account yourself from your account page. If an order is still on its way or a refund is still open, we’ll ask you to wait until it’s done.
To ask about any of this, email hello@uwaorganics.co.za. You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
